URC History
Back in 1993, a group of future-thinking Davis citizens had a big idea: bring a Life Plan Community to town. They formed a nonprofit, the Davis Senior Housing and Care Continuum (DSHCC), to make it happen. Their goal? To create a place focused on lifelong learning, personal growth, health, and well-being.
DSHCC teamed up with the board of University Retirement Community (URC) and chose Pacific Retirement Services (PRS) to help. PRS took charge of planning, designing, building, and managing the community. On February 21, 2000, the first residents moved in. Today, URC and PRS have gone above and beyond those early goals and dreams.
About PRS
